For the 2022 growing season, we are proud to offer an eclectic assortment of old world varieties from near and far, as well as exciting new creations from some of the best tomato cultivators from around the world.
Our varieties have vibrant colors making them true works of art and earning them the name “Heirloom”. These gems don’t sacrifice taste for beauty, the striking appearance of multicolored fruit still maintain the intense flavors of the old world with concentrated sugars, aromas and notes of spice, herbs, or tropical fruits. While some of the newer varieties are not yet old enough to be considered a true heirloom, they are open pollinated cultivars created with heirloom genetic parentage and will no doubt be heirlooms in due time.
It has been our objective to preserve and offer the oldest and rarest heirloom tomatoes varieties to our community. We have researched and collected extensive data about each variety in an effort to provide you with as much information about the variety including growth pattern, days till production, fruit characteristics, and flavor, and when possible history and anecdotes pertaining to the variety. Often bits of the information were not available in English and were translated, and compiled from several sources or people, anthropological studies and archeological documentation.
We love all varieties that made it into our Portfolio for their uniquness, their colors, scents, flavors, and eccentricities, and consider their grand sum as a work of nature’s art — hence the word “Portfolio”. Please enjoy reading about our spring sale “Menu” and view our entire Portfolio if so intrigued.

This year we are excited to offer an exquisite Archeological Plant Package, that will be fun to grow, delicious to eat, and has historic significance.
Many of these heirlooms were special to our species because of their nutritional wealth, daily usage, or cultural significance.
You’ll discover a variety of ancient crops, some that disappeared from human culture for centuries, only to return to seed banks from unearthed burials excavated by archaeologists and then germinated by relentless efforts of seed preservationists.
Today these unusual heirlooms provide delicious fruits, nutrient density, high yield production, and carry with them the mystic of hidden knowledge and mysterious applications, as well as the importance to our ancestors — eternally buried in their seed.
Here at the Garden of Eat’n we strive to nurture a relationship with nature that is one of respect, awareness, and pays witness to the beauty, vitality, and healing power of plants.
In that vein, we have, and continue to search far and wide for rare sources of living medicine that can be found in fruits, herbs, and roots used by our ancestors.Today, these gifts of nature are increasingly being forgotten as we turn more towards synthetic pharmaceuticals for the past hundred years. Yet alternatively, people have used plants as forms of medicine for thousands of years with very good results. Regardless of where one sits between these two poles it is worth exploring what plants can do even and profit from the benefit of both forms of medicine.
Check out these varieties and decide for yourself.
