The Roman Candle tomato arose as a sport of John Swenson’s ‘Speckled Roman’ tomato. Being a purely sung old yellow paste tomatoes, it is a rare variety.
The shape and color are reminiscent of the traditional Roman candles.
The flavor is mild and sweet, but the texture is firm and meaty. Perfect for an unusual tomato sauce or roasting.
