San Marzano (Napoli)
This tomato is said to have been gifted from the King of Peru to the King of Naples during the 1770s, planted near the city of San Marzano in the foothills of Mount Vesuvius, careful selection led to the modern San Marzano currently under UGP protection.
Fleshy with few seeds, and a strong taste because of the rich mineralized volcanic soil from the region. Slender red fruit.
