While it is an old American heirloom, it has also become a favorite within the current culinary industry after being selected by Alice Waters (founder of The Chez Panisse Restaurant, and Mother of &#8220;California Cuisine&#8221;). The fruits are ivory white when ripe and grow on indeterminate vines.
