{"id":2300,"date":"2017-05-30T08:59:28","date_gmt":"2017-05-30T15:59:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thegardenofeatn.com\/?post_type=project&#038;p=2300"},"modified":"2019-04-25T15:30:31","modified_gmt":"2019-04-25T22:30:31","slug":"indigo-rose-2","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/thegardenofeatn.com\/?project=indigo-rose-2","title":{"rendered":"Indigo Rose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developed by Jim Myers at Oregon State University, using traditional breeding methods.<\/p>\n<p>It began in the 1960&#8217;s, when two tomato breeders (one from Bulgaria and the other from the United States) managed to make the first crossed-cultivated tomatoes with a wild tomato species from Chile, and the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands.\u00a0Graduate students, working with Myers successfully crossed them together creating the Indigo Rose tomato.<\/p>\n<p>The fruit are truly dark purple \/ black and have a red interior.
