It is an \u00a0open-pollinated variety created by Ed Schultz of Bozeman, Montana. after 30 years of development, which resulted in a stunning neon orange soft flint corn. The color can vary from orange to pumpkin but whatever shade you get you can expect brilliance as well as bright orange cobs. The stalks are small to medium size (between 3-5 feet) and each stalk produces about two large (10″) ears of corn. This variety you can eat raw or cooked.\r\n

\r\nMaize\/Corn was domesticated 10,000 years ago in Mexico by native peoples and was introduced to the European colonists by Native Americans and eventually brought back to Europe by Christopher Columbus. Today it is widespread globally and perhaps is the most relied on crop.\r\n

\r\nCorn and Maize are terms, both used to describe the same grain derived from grass that human populations in the Americas have cultivated over centuries that have lead to the favorite and versatile crop that we eat fresh or cooked. The word “Corn” is primarily used in American English, while “Maize” is used internationally as well as in scientific circles.
