Melo), which is a close relative to the cucumber (C. sativus) which we know and love. The Armenian Cucumber (or Yard Long Snake Melon) is long and sage colored and has smooth skin that is very thin. Other common names are Tiroz\u00ee (Kurdish), Acuri (Turkish) Uri (Japanese),\u00a0<i lang=\"hi-Latn\" title=\"Hindi-language text\">kakri (<\/i>Hindi), <i lang=\"pa-Latn\" title=\"Punjabi-language text\">tar (<\/i>Punjabi), <span dir=\"rtl\" lang=\"ar\" title=\"Arabic-language text\">\u0637\u0631\u062d<\/span>\u00a0 (Arabic), <i lang=\"it\" title=\"Italian-language text\">commarella<\/i> or <i lang=\"it\" title=\"Italian-language text\">tortarello<\/i>\u00a0(Italian). These fruits can grow up to 3 feet long, but the flavor is best when it is 12-15&#8243;.
