Previously known as purple Russian.\u00a0The seeds are said to have come from his aunt Irma Henkel in 1980.\r\n\r\nThese tomatoes vary quite a bit in shape and size. Some are truly beefsteak tomato size and shape, while others are closer to the traditional elongated plum shape. The color is almost a glowing brown with a hint of purple. The flavor is rich and sugary sweet, but not too fruity.
