Green Pineapple is a small, slightly flattened beefsteak. It displays an emerald to lime-green green color with a touch of yellow on its blossom end and chartreuse-green interiors. This variety has a unique fruity aroma, full of sweet, complex flavor with a hint of spice, when picked right at the moment when the tomato begins to develop its yellow feature (don’t wait too long). John Hartman of Indianapolis, Indiana, introduced the Green Pinapple tomato in Seed Savers 1991 Yearbook.
