Russian commercial variety vended by CV Gavrish, introduced in 2015 for commercial production by Tatiana’s TOMATObase Seeds. The Russian name is ‘Shere Khan’, which is the name of a tiger from The Jungle Book stories featuring Mowgli by Rudyard Kipling.
The fruit is sausage shaped that sometimes has two small swellings at the base, making it similar in appearance to male genitalia. The color is red with yellow stripes and the flavor is more acidic than sweet. It is an excellent pasting tomato or good as a conversation starter.
