1500 Year Old Cave Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris)

The 1500 Year Old Cave Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) was reported to have been found in a pitch sealed clay pot in a cave in New Mexico. The beans were examined and carbon dated 1500 years old. This is a vine variety and it grows up to 10 feet long. The beans are long black and white speckled beans that grow inside a flat shell and are delicious.
