It is said to be an offshoot of the ‘Moneymaker’ variety. The fruits are medium, golf-ball sized and about 3-5 ounces. They are considered resistant to powdery mildew (PM). The Alicante tomato was a part of the English breakfast and traditionally served boiled. The flavor is that of the old world tomato flavor and is perfect for canning.
