The Evergreen tomato is an old heirloom that was introduced for commercial distribution by Glecklers Seedmen of Metamora, Ohio in 1956.
Prior to this, the seeds were initially discovered by Ben Quisenberry, Ohio, and given to the Seed Savers Exchange in 1980. Ben gave them the name Evergreen, Tasty.
The fruits are medium sized beefsteak tomatoes that are green with a golden blush when ripe. The flavor is perfectly balanced and has a classic tomato flavor.
