The history of the Great White tomato starts In 1987, and the seed collection of an elderly woman sent a collection of orange and yellow tomatoes that she offered to Gleckler Seed Company to conduct trial. From these trials emerged an unexpected white beefsteak tomato, which is believed to be a genetic mutation. Gleckler Seed spent several years cultivating it. It is believed to be the largest of all white tomato varieties.
The flavor has hints of pineapple, Guava, and melon, with a creamy white texture.
