The brandywine tomato variety is believed to be traced back to the Amish who named the tomato after a creek in Pennsylvania.

The fruits are painfully beautiful. They are dark red and plump oddly shaped beefsteak tomatoes. The fruit is extremely sweet, but has a savory aftertaste and a hint of acidity.
