The Scarlett Variegated Pepper was created by Graeme Chaplin of Australia and is the result of the crossing of Purple Tiger and a Jalapeno peppers. This is an ornamental variety if there ever was one with the creamy green variegated foliage with some purple markings on the stems as well as the fruits that ripen from purple to yellow, and finally a red. The plants are short and compact and usually stay under a foot tall and the flavor is sweet with a hint of spice.
