Indeterminate vines produce ripe fruit in 68-75 days from transplant. If you love the infamous Sungold F1 variety that has become the home gardener’s summer treasure then you will love the OPEN POLLINATED version. The Big Sungold Select is from a line of de-hybridized versions of the Sungold developed in Austria and sent to Manfred Hamm from Germany, who eventually shared them with fellow German breeder Reinhard Kraft. In the early 2000s he found a large fruit in his grow out which he named Big Sungold Select. They grow 6-8 fruits per cluster and people claim that they are sweeter than candy. We like to make Jam out of them and use it to glaze chicken.
