Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ is believed to be a sport of the Salvia microphyllia. It is a low growing 2′-4′ tall x 4′ wide super sweetly fragrant shrub that never stops blooming. It has cute white double flowers with red bottoms that look like puckered lips and they COVER the plant. It was first grown by Richard Turner at The San Francisco Botanical Garden from a cutting he brought back from Mexico. It is hardy, drought tolerant and will benefit from a hard cut back every winter.
