Salvia gesneriiflora ‘Tequila’ might just be the never ending bloomer in the Salvia family. I have been growing it for years and the only time I didn’t see any flowers was when I cut it down. It is a massive plant that can grow 6′ x 6′ in a year or two. The green foliage, with bright red flower petals that dangle from black stems is quite the show stopper. There is a slight herbal but not sweet fragrance that also makes it a delight in a garden. Drought tolerant, deer resistant and pretty damn indestructible.
