White Sage (Salvia Apiana)

Grow your own smudge-sticks, make white sage tea, or add to your corn bread for a culinary surprise! Salvia apiana “White Sage”is California Native evergreen perennial that grows from the southwestern United States and Mexico. White silvery stems grow beautiful taupe green fragrant leaves that are tremendously calming when smelled, burnt or drank. It has been sacred plant for used by Native American for many things ranging from food to medicine and rituals. The seed is a mandatory ingredient in pinolle ( a spice blend comprised of roasted ground maize, cocoa, agave, cinnamon, chia seeds, vanilla, and other spices. Tea is made from the roots to help build strength for mothers after giving birth, but also helps with colds and sickness.
