Indeterminate vines produce ripe fruits early to mid seasoning about70 days from transplant. The “Tomate Citron” is known by several other names: Plum Lemon, Wonder of the World, Worlds Wonder, and Wonder Light. It is a Russian heirloom. The original Russian name is Чудо света (Chudo sveta). The words translate to ‘Wonder, and either ‘World’ and ‘light’, depending on context. In context, it would be wrong to use the translation as ‘light’ for the name, so it should be called ‘Wonder of the World’. Kent Whealy collected the seeds from an elderly seedsman at Moscow’s Bird Market during in August 1991 coup.The variety is believed to have been Bred by Russian gardener A. Porozov of Ryazan, in a town outside of Moscow.The fruits are almost identical to a lemon in shape, size, and color. The flavor is good and mild, with a hint of citrus, while the texture is thick and creamy.
