Xanadu Green Goddess

This regular leaf, Indeterminate tomato ripens in about 90 days. The fruits are medium sized but huge in flavor. The variety was created by tomato breeder Blane Horton.

 

The story of the Xanadu Green Goddess tomato is one of mystery and peculiarity. The seeds came from the “Surpriz” batch and turned out to be a surprise indeed and was a result of the work of bees rather than tomato breeders. Thanks to the work of that nameless bee, anthocyanin expression found its way into the Surpriz Beefstake, a creation of breeder Tricia Rosamilia.

 

The fruits are green with dark black shoulders, that fade and stripe the flesh.The flavor is a balance of sweetness and acidic notes, some even say it has citrus flavor, but there is a strong savory tomato flavor as well.
