Indeterminate vines produce ripe fruit late in the season in about 90-110 days. The Boloto tomato was created by the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in Moscow and was placed on the Russian Federation state register in 2004. It has become a favorite variety for commercial growing and was a product of GISOK Selection and Seed Production Company who specializes in tomato breeding. Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois was kind enough to share the seeds with the Seed Savers exchange and placed in the 2007 Yearbook. Weighing between 5-8 ounces, these fruits are green and flat with ribbing and fade to purple at the blossom end, and have outstanding flavor. Some say the flavor is very tropical and intense.
