Indeterminate vines produce ripe fruit in 70-80 days from transplant. This is one of the most popular market tomatoes in Sicily. The name “Ciliegino” is Italian for cherry. The high sugar content of the Ciliegino tomatoes grown in Sicily have become classified as an IGP crop (indication géographique protégée, in English protected geographical indication), the European Union food certification. Seeds were sourced in Sicily by me at a farmers market in Pachino.
