Another wonderful creation of Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farm in Napa California. The lineage of this rare variety can be traced back to OSU Blue.
The fruits range between 4-6 ounces of red fruit with varying degrees of black shouldering, depending on growing practices and sun exposure, to almost all black if grown in full sun. The black color is due to the high concentration of anthocyanin (the antioxidant found in blueberries) and offers the same health benefits. The flavor is mild but good, – having a touch of acidity and sweetness as well.
The flavor is mild but good, the fruit is visually stimulating.
