85 days for fruits to ripen. Indeterminate vines. Developed by Blane Horton of Jackson, Mississippi. The Copperhead Dwarf comes out of the ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ project (‘Dwarf Wild Fred’ and Keith Muellers ‘H-28) which also produced other wonderful varieties like “Aftershock” and “Pit Viper”’. However, the ‘Copperhead’ was found in Helene Bergquist’s garden.Fruits are of medium-sized (around 3-5 oz.) and are round and flat with ribbing. They have a rich Copper colored outside and some dark green shoulders, but boast a vermilion flesh with pink marbling. The flavor is beyond perfect, so sweet and spicy with hints of zest of tangerine. Grows well in containers.
