Early season variety that produces ripe fruit in 75-85 days from transplant and grow from indeterminate vines.  The plants thrive in early spring and in the fall when the heat is not at its hottest, a pattern is common for the black varieties from colder climates. It is believed that the Margaret Curtain tomato originated in New Zealand and is an old heirloom of over 100 years. The fruits are large black/purple beefsteak and has dark green shoulders. The flavor is often compared with the Black Krim, being savory, salty, and rich in tomato flavor.
