The Lemon Drop tomato is an indeterminate plant that takes about 80 days to ripen.Just as several other heirloom tomatoes were derived from a cross or natural hybridization of a planted species, so is the case with the Lemon Drop cherry tomato. It was found by a member of the Seed Savers Exchange, J.T. Sessions, who discovered it and saved the seeds. It is very reminiscent of the old fashioned Lemon drop candy. The lemon drop tomato has small bright yellow fruit that bring back memories of the popular American candy the “lemon drop”. The flavor is tart and sweet, and the fruits are small yellow with a rich of light green on the shoulders of the fruit.
