Jibai Shimoshirazu じばいしもしらず(Cucumis Sativus)

An ancient variety from the southern islands of Japan. An old family from the city of Beppu on the Island of Kyushu have worked to cultivate and preserve this heirloom for generations. It is known for its intense sweet flavor and lack of bitterness! Some even claim it to be the sweetest cucumber. The fruits are stumpy and good for snacking. These are beautiful dark green fruit ranging from 6”-8” long and grow well in hot climates. It also is strong against cucumber diseases and powdery mildew.
